Computer Laptop Diagnostics
INCLUDED with FULL REPAIR
After diagnostics, Lightspeeds Computer Repair will contact the customer with an estimate for repair. If the customer chooses to have Lightspeeds repair the computer/laptop, the diagnostics fee will be waived. If the customer declines repairs, they will be charged the diagnostics estimate fee listed below.

- Laptop Computer Estimate For Repair Only Service $45
If a laptop computer, if the problems are with the internal hardware, the laptop needs to be dis-assembled, and re-assembled in order to diagnose the internal hardware properly which is much more time over a desktop system. Thus the higher diagnostics fee.
The diagnostics fee can be applied or credited towards full repair within 30 days of diagnostics estimate.
"Turn-Around" Time:
Depending on work load, average turn around completion time is 2-4 days. Some repairs completed by the next day. Hardware replacement repairs, special order components approximately 7 working days week: laptop screen replacement, dc power jack repair etc. Does not include weekends or holidays.
Rush Service Fee = $55
This moves your computer or laptop to the top of repair list for immediate service. Depending on the time of day unit is dropped off for repair will determine if repair can be completed same day or following day.
- Virus Removal, Computer Tuneup, hard drive replacement service can be completed in approx 6 - 10 hours
- Overnight shipping, 2 day ship is available on special order components (laptop lcd screen, laptop dc jack, motherboard)
at approximately $45 extra from most suppliers.

This is strictly just a Virus - Spyware - Malware detection and removal service.
- Disk Cleaner Performed: Temp files, "clutter" cleaned out.
NO OTHER System Checks, Computer Repairs or Computer Optimization performed with this Basic Service. This is offered for those who "just want a virus removed"... ONLY. No Security software installed. And No "after" warranties apply due to this "Basic Removal" service.

Lightspeeds Computer Does everything to protect your data. My main goal is to repair your computer or laptop, NOT damage it any further. Due to ANY pre-existing problems, pre-existing hardware problems, pre-existing virus infected computer for example. Lightspeeds Computer Repair of Augusta will not be responsible for data loss IF it should happen during the course of diagnostics OR computer repair.
IIf "formating" or re-installing the operating system is necessary to repair your computer or laptop, WE WILL call you to check once more if data backup was signed and not requested. Re-Installing the operating system DOES erase all data,, we will call you IF this is required.
Lightspeeds Data Back Up Waiver must be completed prior to ANY computer service repairs.

Data Recovery Service $95 - $149
Having a back up plan, back up schedules in place on your computers important data at all times is critical! Personnel data cannot be replaced if lost permantly. Computers hard drive will not last forever, for the drive does have a general lifespan. How well you maintain your computer and the hard drive within your computer will determine how long it lasts.
Hard Drives do not like being dropped, hard drives do not like heat and an over worked, virus infected drive will have a negative impact on it's lifespan.
Data Recovery is a long process, and sometimes when complete data is to far corrupt, or gone to recover. If the drive has mechanically failed internally I cannot recover the data. For only a specialized data recovery service can possibly perform that,, and they are costly, starting at $500-$2000 depending on how much data needs to be recovered. For they specailize in the dis-assembly of the drive in a special "clean room" enviroment/lab facility.
IF we cannot recover your data, there is NO CHARGE to you!
Hard Drive Cloning / Hard Drive Imaging Services

used IF your current drive fails, to "Image" your system onto a new hard drive.
Operating System Installation Service
An Operating Disk, Recovery Disk, Drive Image File is needed to re-install / reload the operating system. These disks sometimes come with a new pc, others manufactures prompt the user to make a recovery disk(s) set with software and instructions on the new pc after purchasing computer or laptop.
If your computer or laptop did not come with these "recovery disks", or you did not make the recovery disk on your new computer/laptop, contact your computers manufacture, for they might send them to you free. Otherwise these disks run approx. $149-$199 retail!
Your manufacture might have a built in recovery partition on the drive that can be used IF the drive has not failed.
Includes installing Operating System, installing all hardware drivers, installing all current updates to the Operating
System, Avast or AVG Anti Virus, Security Software and Operating System Optimization after full installation.

I can not beat the package deals in the mega stores, but what I can do is build you a custom computer, with quality brand name components for home use OR gaming, that will last you for years to come. Other than the processor in these "mega store" shelved units, all other componets in these computers are basically cheap generic components. The power supply is usually the first to fail on these desktops.
I only build computers now on a need only,, or per customer order.
